Goodbye Blackberry

Anna Grace Trussler

My childhood was full of goats and sheep, horses, calves and chickens. I had holes in my jeans and pockets full of loose alfalfa leaves, and these two started all of it. The old girls are back together again. Goodbye, Blackberry... Thanks for all the great memories. Sometimes a goat is more than just a goat. — with Eunice Cole.

Thank you for letting me share my sorrow with you. I so loved this doe. She gave us 22 live kids and never one dead one in twelve years. We had a hard winter and it got her. I bought back her five year old doe last summer. So her family lives on.

I am so glad that you got her doe. I know how you feel..Weezie is special to me..I didn't know that she would make it through the winter this year. So far..so good..but when it happens..I will be devastated..simply devastated. I love them all..but there's only ever gonna be one Weezie..and there's only gonna be one Blueberry for you.

Again..I am sorry for the loss..In a few weeks..those memories of Blueberry will be "golden" and sweet.
