Odd Eye Color - Have You Ever Seen This?

I have buckling & doeling twins. Grandsire is a hazel-eyed MiniMancha. Dam has the usual hazel-colored eyes. Sire has blue eyes. Both kids have a ring of blue around their pupils, then hazel coloring for the rest of the iris. How common/uncommon is this?

It will eventually turn all hazel. I have seen it when there is a blue eyed parent.

I never see articles refering to eye color. I have an F1 mini mancha buck with baby blue eyes that have a brown dotted pattern across the top and bottom of the iris. He's the first MM I've seen, so I have no idea if this is common, but I love his eyes
