Talking Snow Day and Pawing

School was cancelled today . My FF has a noticeably tight udder this morning and she is pawing at the ground. I think today is THE day! Her name is Martha, soon to be 4 years old and my first bottle baby. Prayers needed for an easy delivery!

Oh good! FF can either act like pros or be a wee bit nervous. Just stay calm and let mother nature kick in. I hope you are blessed with healthy babies and no problems!

Wow..I love her color~

I'm trying to stay calm . I'm doing 30 minute checks on her to keep myself from driving her crazy in the barn. I left her a bit ago eating hay with her wether buddy. The rest of the girls got locked away from her so that when the time comes I don't have to stress out. My barn was originally built for cows so the stalls have too big of openings where the smaller goats can go in and out. So I blocked off one part of the barn where none of them can get out (I hope). I'm thinking she's in very early labor...no goo yet. She was being very vocal earlier though...sort of like trying to figure out why she is feeling like she is

I'm excited for you! I have a doe that is due in a couple of weeks. I got her in October so I don't really know how she is at kidding. This will be her second time. Even after all the zillions of kiddings...I get just as excited each time a doe delivers. It's like God's gift to me to be a part of it all.

I hope my other doe's didn't tell her about the "doe code" LOL. She is only intereted in eating, no more pawing, and I don't see as much discomfort in the back end as I did this morning. I don't like not having a due date LOL

Not much happening. She is still pawing...made her a little nest...gets up...turns around, paws some more and lays down again.

She's doing her thing..making a nice nest for the babies! I love it when they start talking to the babies before they are even born. I absolutely love that.

She was certainly a sweet little thing as a baby. Therefore, she will have an easy time and deliver girls. You have all our best wishes and prayers as needed..

We have a doeling . Looks like her momma with long ears . Unfortunately momma wants NOTHING to do with her. She must have learned that from HER momma ha ha. I was able to milk out a couple of ounces of colostrum before the placenta started coming out. I gave that to the baby who took to the bottle like a champ. I'll go back out and get more in a little bit. I was afraid to contaminate the milk. I don't think I've ever seen one pass the afterbirth so fast! I'll post pics in a bit...but she really does look like her mommy with ears LOL

Congrats! She is a FF, so she may just not be sure of what to do. Did you let her clean it? Sometimes it takes a bit for momma to figure out that she IS momma.

Again..congrats..she is a real cutie. Sure glad she kidded today for ya!
