The Drama Never Ends

I went back to the courthouse this week and filed papers for the owner of the dogs to answer interrogatories. We go back to court on March 26th, at which time I will request her financial information and report her to the credit bureau. I had to mail a copy of the subpoena to her and, from the response on the public news forum (http://www.topix.net/forum/source/nb...G5GBE0V9L9/p10), I see that she must have received it yesterday. I'm so sick of the drama. Why can't people just do the right thing? I don't understand why victims have to be further victimized.

Sorry you're going through this.

Did you have homeowners insurance to cover the loss of the goats?
The dog owner can get out of the whole thing by simply filing bankruptcy, so it seems like having insurance cover the loss then letting them go after the dog owner would be a lot less stressful.

Same here.

I can't imagine what they are hoping to gain by these tactics.

Breaking my heart is about all it's doing right now - not because I'm questioning what we did (it's what we had to do) - but because it makes me keep reliving that day. I should be happy - I have 2 does due this coming week - but this just keeps reminding me that it would have, SHOULD HAVE, been 4...

Boy, I'd just stay away from that 'forum'. It's a typical flame fest fed by drama addicts.

Hang in there Trish.

Trish that forum is the most toxic on the web...People think they have the freedom to post the most vile things about others on there. My little podunk town is really bad for it. As a matter of fact several people are being sued over comments made on that forum in my little town. Suddenly those people making those nasty comments don't feel so big and bad now that their computer screen they were hiding behind has been taken away. Topix was subpenaed to turn over their user info and ip addresses. It is going to court this summer. I am sorry for the loss of your animals. I have shot dogs on my property while caught in the act of killing my livestock. I usually do not say anything. Shot, shut up, and shoveled. If some one were to come looking for their dogs I would hesitate to say anything. It is fairly common knowledge around here that dogs will be killed if harming livestock. I hope you can get back to some normalcy in your life sometime soon. None of those people criticizing you would have done anything different had they been in your shoes. Its easy to say they wouldn't have harmed those dogs until they came upon the same scene you did. it is very hard to stop a dog or dogs once in the act of killing. It is very risky to try to stop them with out the use of deadly force.

I agree with the folks who say "Avoid that forum." If you need info, maybe your lawyer can wade through all that toxic waste...

Again, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I'm praying for you... and in my heart of hearts, I know I'm supposed to pray for those clueless stinkers, but by golly! The prayer that comes to mind/heart is "SMITE THEM, LORD!"

Don't engage them any more. I get the impression the owners are posing on that forum as farmers in your area. Truth is, we know lots of big time farmers, and none would fault you for what you did to protect your livestock. Let them continue the antagonizing behavior, because it only hurts them more, in the long run.

I agree. I also believe it's her, because it only started after she received the subpoena for the interrogatories. I have nothing to say to her, but as you can see, my daughter couldn't keep quiet. I tried to tell her to ignore it, but the "mama bear" in her came out, claws first! I would love to find out who my "friend" is that's feeding her info. She has no way to know any of what she posted unless someone "close" to me is telling her. It's sad to not be able to trust any one.

Sorry I couldn't help but post, something's wrong with those people. Sorry you have to deal with that horrid woman. She says she's moving to Montana but she doesn't have any money. I would go after her homeowners insurance. Let them deal with her.

Livestock attacking dogs should go over real well in Montana. Hope she keeps any future dogs put up.

Woe Nelly! I read the topix forum from start to end. It is ok for you and your friends to gang up on the dog owners and not ok for other's to gang up on you?

have you considered stepping back from the situation and seeing what you are doing to contribute to the drama?

Your fb page is a little mean and the other posters do act like they know the dog owner.

Its time to get a new hobby.

Take her to court for interrogation purposes. If someone doesn't want to pay you they wont pay you.

In the long run a judgment on a credit report doesn't really effect a credit report that much. Think unpaid credit card bills.

Sorry I am sounding negative. This is just a opinion from the outside.

I'd think since all of this is still in court, it would be best not to discuss any of it in a public forum on the web....

Also, some times it's better to just walk away then keep trying to prove a point by trying to get the money...

Not trying to be ugly at all, just saying some times life is WAY too short to keep petting the sweaty stuff.
