I just sold half my herd! Now I have the funds to get milk goats

A guy just stopped by and offered to buy all my boy goats and a few of the does. This makes way for the new milkers I want to get! Yay Yay Yay!

La manchas are what I am looking at. I go on Tuesday to look at some potentials. They are bottle babies and I get to see the parents and the over all health of their herd. If things are not good then I will keep looking. So excited!!!!

Anyone else think of the Geico commercials when they read the topic? I know, I know...I'm weird.

I turned to Nick and said, "This goat forum rocks!" Then I read him the title of your post.

Lamancha, huh? Well, someone has to take in those poor earless things, I suppose....

I have Pygmy/Nigerian currently. They are good little milkers but they are small. I can get about two pints from each gal per milking. It is an adventure to hand milk them as they are smaller. I have small hands so this is not to much of an issue. Now if my husband ever had to milk them no one would be the same afterward!!! One of our old neighbors Larry and Molly from Fiasco farm had the La mancha's before they split up. They were nice goats and had nice temperaments.

I've got one goat from Fiasco lines (a Goldie g-daughter) and she is the sweetest thing.

Warning, You may have goat-a-holic tendencies or have been hanging around too many enablers lately!

Oh it is waaaayyyy to late for me. I am already lost to goats! They are great little critters. Just sent off one buck named quagmire and f 3 weathers, one doe that always gives me birthing issues. Whew I am so glad to see that buck gone he was not friendly at all. My other bucks are love bugs and have great personalities.
