I buy it at the feed store. Just ask for Bicarb. You may have to find somewhere that mixes there own feed though !!

I bought a 50-pound bag at the local feed store. If I remember correctly, it was pretty cheap. I still have about 25% of the original bag I bought in March of 2011.

Yep, mom & pop type feed store. Sodium Bicarbonate & for 50 pounds I think I paid under $6.00 for it.

MFA has it. Probably every other feed store carries it, too.

OH MY GOSH! I didn't know feed stores have it. I've been buying it at the store and having to explain to folks why I'm getting eight boxes at a time.
Pony, Minelson and harvestmoonfarm like this.

Alice...it's less the $6 for a 50lb bag at Hirsch's ... like Chris said.. just ask for Bi Carb..
it's prepackaged and ready to go just like the Calcium Bicarbonate .. the ammonium chloride is by the pound.. just tell 'em how many lbs you want.. it's like 60 something cents a pound.

susie, mo ozarks

Well, I'm sure glad Alice 'fessed up. I never thought to ask for it at the feed store either!

I never thought to ask for it at the feed store, so you're not alone, Alice. I just bought a 5 lb bag at Sam's Club, but usually just buy it by the box at Walmart! LOL

LOL! They probably thought you had some disastrously bad indigestion, or else you were "doing science" (6th grade volcanoes come to mind...)

But hey! It gave you an opportunity to talk GOATS!

My goats LOVE the little boxes...it's their favorite toy. The excitement of opening a fresh little box and then playing with the box is like Christmas for them ..... so I continue to buy the little boxes
