First kids are first AI kids born - ever!

2013 kidding season started today - Paisley, 88% boer doe bred via AI to 2DOX Amigo kidded with twins. Unfortunately I was still at work in Lansing and my father, who is not nearly so good at spotting kidding signs as I am, missed the kidding. He found the buckling dead, not sure why he died. But, there is a big chunky 94% DOELING out there that I'm in love with! Probably going to keep her... but I do have 7 other boer does to kid within the next few days, so I'll likely get a choice.

Facebook is non-cooperative but I did get photos uploaded to FB!

You have inspired me to AI out of season! I am getting ready to AI 3 LaManchas and 2 Nubians.

A dear friend of mine gave me 60 straws from one of her bucks (so I have enough to use 3 or straws each, if need be) and I purchased 95 straws of Nubian semen that the owner no longer wanted to pay storage on with the facility that collected it (got 95 for $50). I was going up there anyway so I picked it up so it is cozy in MY tank and cheap enough to "practice" with. The Nubians I am only interested in freshening (as they will be second timers and I would like to assess udders). Therefore, if I don't like the kids I can easily sell Nubian kids in these parts.

Congrats on all of you success!!! I'll keep your posted....

Gena, that is a STEAL for all that semen. I'm jealous, lol! Why can't I ever get deals like that... Oh yea, I only paid like 75.00 for my AI tank. Guess I can't complain, hehe!

Had 2nd set of AI kids born - this time my Alpine doe gave Quads! See upcoming thread...
