Feeding Winter Squash

Hi there, I have a great big Hubbard squash that I want to bust open and give to my goats. Question 1-Can they eat too much of it and bloat? Question 2- What's the best way to feed it to them? Cut it in little pieces or just let them take bites of it when it's cut in half? Your input is welcomed. Thanks

what I do...

I cut pumpkins or squash into bite-sized pieces.....with teeth only on the bottom it seems like it is difficult for them to take bites off of somethig that is that hard.....and I want them to eat it, not play with it.....but try it both ways and see what works best for your goats.

Any new feed can be too much of a good thing but personally I have never had problems feeding squash in any amount. We just chuck them on the ground so they split and then toss them in the pasture. We grow pumpkins for market so there are always culls and left overs from competitions, they love it...

I had always wondered where baby goats come from. We now have proof they are hatched from pumpkins.
