Replamin question

If you don't have the special tool and the tube doesn't fit in a standard caulking gun how do you get it out to dispense it.

Someone on the site used a dowel. I used a dowel and put it into a smaller measured tube.

I use the end of a wooden spoon. I hold a 6 cc syringe (with the end cut off and the hole slightly enlarged) on to the tip of the tube. Then push the spoon and it squirts into the syringe. I hold everything vertically so that I hold the syrine onto the replamin tube with my left hand and pull the tube down onto the handle of the spoon with my right.
Ford Zoo likes this.

I have done the same thing as the others. Now that I've used abit, I am going to cut off the end of the tube and see if it will fit into one of the caulking guns hanging in the shed. I'm thinking it will fit but I'll have to play around with it for dosing.

Just as a warning, do not use the end of a screw driver to push the seal as it will puncture. And the Rep itself will clog the end of a 5ml syringe if not given right away.

Gave them their first dose and they hated it! Tomorrow I will use a honey chaser to see how that goes.

I saved my original 80cc tube from the first replamin plus order & I refill that tube from a 300cc Replamin tube. I use either a wooden spoon or a long handled screwdriver to push the end in & refill my smaller tube. Then I use the dial thingy to dial what I need per goat.

When you refill the smaller tube though after it's empty you have to take the plastic cap off to get the plunger out then put the cap back on & refill the tube.

Well, it might have cost me a little, but I am quite fond of the dosing gun for it. It is really sturdy and will likely last me years.

I use a wooden spoon. I have to hide it from my buck and herd queen, or they will slurp up every other goats dose.

Now THIS looks like it might require a bit of coordination. It could be very entertaining if *I* try this method!! <giggle>
