Wether companion to ram?

Can a wether be a companion to a ram?

I havent done this but I would hesitate. The problem I see, is no matter what there will be dominance picking. So the wether rises up to head butt, and the ram, in his nature plows through him like a freight train without warning. Sounds like broken back knees to me.
