Cat or kitty litter as a goat bedding base?

Can cat litter be used as a bedding base for goats? I couldn't really find any info about this application.

I have a concrete floor. So I was wondering an inch or two of cat litter at the bottom on the concrete, and then pine pellets and/or straw on top of that?

It would become the nastiest concoction of sludgy clay/urine/poo, very fast. And be difficult to clean up.

I suggest NOT using it.

Just put down a good layer of some sort of pine shavings and then straw over it. Then clean it regularly.

I have concrete floors. I do the deep bedding method to keep things warm and cozy in the barn during the winter. Shavings and hay waste. In the summer I just use stall mats and a bit of shavings to soak up urine. Then I spray the spots with Jeffers Odor Neuturalizer

Great thank you. I wasn't thinking about the soupy mess that wet cat litter would end up mkaing.

I ended up getting some stall mats today so I plan to put down barn lime and diatamaceous earth then the stall mats then some pine pellets, shavings, and/or straw. I wasn't going to get stall mats at first because the ones at Tractor Supply had a really strong rubbery chemical like scent. But I found a local place that had something similar for less and didn't smell too rubbery.

Concrete floors here too. We put down a heavy coat of barn lime, then kiln dried shavings, and finally top with straw. We deep-bed for the winter so add more straw as needed.

Thanks. I've picked up those supplies. Tractor Supply had barn lime $2.99 / 50 lbs so I got 200 lbs to have on hand. Also got a few bags of pine pellets and than at another local feed store got several bags of what they called their cleanest pine shavings.
