Quints! and a question

So my girl finally went into labor and had quints...3 bucks 2 does. all between 1.9-2.11 lbs the doe were the smallest.
One of the does seemed to be having a hard time breathing, was cold and no suck reflex. I warmed her then tubed a little milk in her I gave her vit. b, vit. E and an antibiotic just to be safe. In a few hours she started sucking and drank quite a bit. This morning was standing, breathing fine. Still weak but doing well.

Now for a question...2 of the kids have watery eyes. Never had that before. should I give them an antibiotic or wait for a few days and see what happens?

and of course pics.

The mom is doing great and making lots of milk. These kids were so small they came all folded up and was no problem coming out.

Her grandmother gave me quints twice, her mother kids with quads every year. Maybell was so big I have been expecting quints.

About the watery eyes...When Frankie was born he had one watery eye. Flor a long time. Just clear wateryness. I was told that some amniotic fluid maybe got in his eye but was not told to do anything about it. Thinking back I wish I would have flushed it with saline. Maybe you could try that and see if it helps

I second the saline flushing, but we try to keep away from antibiotics in our herd.

Congrats, they are just adorable!

Oh, how absurdly adorable!! They cannot be that small and be real! Like little walking toys. Good for mama and great for you! They just couldn't be better.

Only use antibiotics when necessary. For now, I would just do as suggested and flush with saline, or apply some plain non-antibiotic eye lubricating gel. If it doesn't clear up on its own, then you might think about antibiotic drops or gel.

Just precious little one's! I'd keep a close eye on the watery eyes right now & just flush with saline like minelson suggested & see how they do.

Hey thanks for the tip on rinsing the eye. I rinsed both of them and they are not running at all today. I would have never thought of that.
