My doe wants to play with the guardian dogs.
I need to stop this behavior ASAP. My Nubian does are in a pen within the pasture. The are two of them, about half grown. Well, one has decided that dogs are fun to play with. She runs and jumps along the fence, trying to entice my 20 month old Anatolian Shepherds to play. This morning she escaped from her pen and went running up to the dogs, hopping and bouncing. They play hard with each other, but never encountered a dog-like goat before and didn't quite know how to take her, I quickly put her back, but I need to train her to not play with dogs ASAP before she gets herself killed. These dogs are good LGDs but weigh a lot. If they join her in a goatie game, she will die. How can I teach her? Do shock collars work on goats? I can see her goat pen from the house and could give her a very light zap whenever she tries to initiate play through the fence. Would this work? I don't know what else to do. Thanks.....
