Safe ways to transport goats...

We have a 4 door ford focus, and a pick up truck. And a large, 4 months pregnant Alpine. With horns. We have an extra large dog crate, and someone interested in buying her, but this person lives 100 miles away, but is willing to meet halfway with a cargo van that she can ride in. Is there a safe way for us to transport her?

What do you do? I am iffy because I don't want to stress her out more than necessary, but that past two goats we sold rode in a dog crate in a pickup--they did the pick up (covered with a blanket, and the crate was strapped in) and did fine and had normal kiddings about a month later.

She should do fine in the pickup in the crate if it is covered.

The past is valuable as a guidepost, but not so if used as a hitching post.

I just stick most of mine in the back seat. I have transported some in dog crates when I have more than 1 to take.

Yup, bungee tarps securely over the crate.
