worried

Our nubian buck jumped onto a building and into our pen with our nigerian dwarf doe. If she is pregnant will she be able to deliver?

If it were me I would wait 2 weeks and Lute the doe. That way you don't have to worry about it.

Has she kidded before? I wouldn't worry myself, but if she's a FF she "may" have a little more trouble. Just mark the calendar so you know when to watch for delivery.

Get Lute from the vet and abort the kid. It's not worth losing the doe.

I agree about the Lute.

I have a pygmy doe who many years ago got bred by my Saanen buck. The buck did not get out, and to this day, I have no idea how she managed it (she either got in the buck pen and then got back out or she backed up to the cattle panels that surrounded the pen).

I didn't know she had gotten bred until she was well on her way and it became physically obvious. I kept my fingers crossed that she had gotten bred by the pygmy buck.

We were lucky - she delivered four pure white and HEALTHY babies.

But, if I had known, I wouldn't have taken the chance and I would have Luted her.

I was pretty sure she was pregnant and showing but wasn't sure since we have some kinda fat goats. She didn't bag up until a week or so ago. I just didn't know whether she would have to have a c-section or what. Turns out she was bred to the kinder that was with her in the late summer/fall but we didn't think it had worked since the time she kidded was at the very end of the possibility. I went out sat. morning and she had delivered two babies. A doeling and a buckling. The buckling was able to push some wire and get into the pen with all of the old ewes(at 1 day old) and when I went out I was terrified because I couldn't find him. He then hopped up into the shed (it's a little step up) with our pyranees right behind him, almost pushing him. I went around because you can't go straight through and picked him up but when I reached down to get him the pyranees put his paw lightly on him and didn't want to let me have him. I love this dog. He was keeping everyone away from the little guy(named houdini). Now he lays right outside of their pen against the pen and the two babies are always laying right against the pen on their side. It is awesome.
