14 ga 2x4 welded wire ok for Nigerian Dwarfs?

Hi, I'm getting dizzy by the many fencing options available. Do you think this 2x4 14 ga welded wire fence would hold in Nigerian Dwarfs? I would probably run a hot wire inside at 12" and also at the top. In my local area this seems to be about the best price I can find on welded wire fence that I can pick up with just a car.

Maybe 2x4 is too large at the bottom for kids though, I guess I could add some poultry netting inside if needed.

Or they have a 1"x2" welded mesh in 14ga but the price is quite a bit more.

What height should I get? I'm guessing 48" minimum, but they also have 60" and 72".

Ideally I was thinking the 16 foot livestock panels, but I have no way to get those home from a place such as Tractor Supply, and anyplace that ships them usually wants you to order 50 panels, and then the shipping charge is of course very high, plus having to basically break down the pallet and unload them one by one with the truck driver's assistance would be quite a workout.

Or can I use just electric netting or many strands of electric wire? I like the simplicity of that but I don't feel as secure about it as some type of fence.

My pen would be at the back of the barn attached to the rear door, probably planning a nice 50x50 ft area I think.

I see some good deals on 330 foot woven wire, but that stuff weighs like 200 pounds plus per roll, that is going to be hard for me to work with I think. I think I'd prefer to pay a little more for shorter somewhat lighter rolls and splice as needed?

Welded wire won't hold up long term, unfortunately. Woven is better, with a hot wire at nose level.

I do use electric net in Missouri for my doe pen. It's quite successful, economical, and they don't climb on it like they do with ANY other type of fence.

Strands of electric wire don't work well with goats.

Need pics of your Mini Nubians!!

Thanks for info, I will research woven wire further. Sorry about that it's been a long day, I meant Nigerian Dwarfs, not dwarf nubians, all the goat terms are starting to merge into each other in my head. I don't actually have any yet, I am planning to reserve some spring kids or possibly pregnant does. I really want to have everything ready first though including their day yard off the back of the barn.

I will also check out the electric net. I think that might work and be more 'reconfigurable' in the future than other options. Other than maybe livestock panels but those are going to be hard for me to get.

Ok how about this stuff, Tractor Supply is pretty much the only other place I know of around here to get this kind of stuff locally:

That horse fence would work good. I was going to get that but they were out of stock so I got the goat fencing that was more expensive. Mine is being used as perimeter fencing so I don't need to worry about them rubbing on it too much.

Thank you for the help. I'm highly interested in the electric netting fence now that I've looked at all the options. By the time I buy the woven mesh wire and then T posts, and then add an electric wire for that, I would be far ahead to buy the electric mesh. Especially considering installation time.

I also like the flexibility the electric mesh would offer. If I want to make the area bigger or move it, it seems much more practicable with the mesh than with wire fencing.

I'm wondering how the electric mesh would work for a garden also. That might need another outside line to help with deer I think. That's my biggest issue is deer for gardens. Also wondering if things would move/dig underneath it easily, like racoons and groundhogs, I do have a fair number of those around too.

I use the electric netting around my garden (when I had one) to keep the goats out. I think it works great just have to make sure it's on so they don't get tangled up in it. I purchased mine from Premire 1
