cheap effective milker.

Found this.... maybe it would be a help to someone here. Maybe on those small teats I hear everyone complaining about.

We made one last yr for out of a canning jar, some tubing, and a hand held vacume sealing machine. I can still hand milk pretty good for not having done it for over 20 yrs. Hubby needed some help so we made this for the times when I was working and unable to milk. Not something we would use much but it did work pretty well and goat didn't seem to mind at all.

Thats clever, and doesnt have lots of fiddly parts to clean either. I am hand milking just one doe, but want to increase that to 3 each day. I may need to go back to this article to give my hands a rest, small orifices or teats, or like you said, when hubby needs to milk in my place. Thanks.

I bought a 60cc syringe today for less than $3, going to pull the plunger all the way out, cut off the tapered end so I just have a tube. Put the plunger back in, inserting it from the newly cut-off end and use it the same way as the trigger+tubing idea, but the suction will be from pulling gently down on the plunger. I'm not planning on doing lots of milking that way but it's there in a pinch if necessary.
