OT: Hubby's decision making processes

I was across the street working in my office.

The physical therapist was working with Dan.

I hear a gun shot.

Dan had seen a squirrel out the front windows that he's been watching for days. He had a shotgun by the front door. He hopped with the walker to the front door, gets the gun, stands on one leg, opens the door enough to get the barrel of the gun out, and shoots the squirrel. He almost deafened the physical therapist. He also FELL BACKWARDS due to the recoil of a 12 gauge shot gun because he was standing on one leg. He hurt his wrist. I told him that if his wrist is broken, I'll just kill him.

The physical therapist is freaked because he has to have strong wrists to use the walker.

I'm a little more than moderately disgusted with him.

I'm starting to like Dan more and more with each story. I hope he was still able to skin a 12 gauge squirrel with a bum wrist.

It's nice to know there are brave souls willing to sacrifice them selves in order to keep the world safe from those militant rodents with bushy tails.

You should have helped him out a little and replaced his shotgun with a 22... not only would it have been no pellets to eat around, but he wouldn't have knocked himself over..

Get Dan a .22 or a .410 shotgun. Much less recoil!

I don't think I'd be able to do much more than stand and blink at him.

So are you writing from jail? I can see the headline now; "Disabled man beaten into coma with dead squirrel. Married judge dismisses all charges"

I don't think that its a decision making process so much as lack thereof. You need to bubble wrap that man!

He admitted right away that he did a stupid thing this time.

He was flexing his wrist and saying it was working. I made a fist with mine and asked if THAT would work. He missed the threat completely. Sigh.

One of those blow up, hamster ball like things. The kind they use to bounce down mountains. ~nodsnodsnodsnodsnods~

I am noticing a distinct trend in this thread. All of the guys are saying, "Wow! Cool! My hero!" The gals are shaking their heads and saying, "Does that man think at ALL?"

OMG, I choked from laughing so hard! Alice, if you can't find him a hamster ball to stay safe in you are gonna have to lock him in the bedroom with no dangerous toys to get hurt on.

Alice, you need a good stiff drink!

I hope he took a few minutes to show the therapist how to shoot. Er... then maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea.

I wonder if there is anything LEFT to skin of Mr. Squirrel after a 12 gauge blast.....
The only fault I find in his decision making is choosing the 12 gauge over a .410 or a .22.
