The watch pot ain't boiling :(

I know better every year but I do it again and again. We're on day 149 and I've been out to check her and nothing still. Ligaments have been gone since yesterday morning, her udders filling, and I'm watching every sign for labor. She's huge and miserable and I feel like a nervous grandma pacing the room. I've had five children of my own, two of them were home births, so I empathize with my girls.

We've had our farm for five years now and only keep 2-3 does at a time. In the past 4 kidding seasons we have never had a doeling born here. We've had 7 bucklings born on the farm. Out of the pregnant does I've sold we had 7 doelings and 1 buckling born off the farm. So I'm praying that out of my four pregnant girls here this year we'll break the evil buckling curse

I'll post a picture of my prego girl when the sun comes out.

I learned yesterday that a full udder is not a sign this year. It's a weird year.

I hope she goes today for you & gives you all doelings! We surely don't want a buckling year this year for none of us I don't think!

Most of mine have filled udders a month or more early.

Hope you get all doelings this yr!

Well I have an exact breeding date for her, thank goodness!! I guess by next Saturday we'll have babies. I was just hoping she'd have then this weekend. But, she'll wait till the middle of the crazy busy week. Always works that way.

Completely empathize here! We had the fake or real (?) - who knows! repeated heat syndrome going on all fall. We would see the girls "acting" as if they were in heat, see the boys "acting" as if they were breeding them and finally, see them come back in and start the whole cycle all over again!!! Every 21 days starting in Sept. and running through Oct., Nov and Dec!! Finally, decided either they are or they aren't but we are not playing the game any more. No June kids, thank you! Sigh...we are just watching everybody and checking the calendar for the various "due dates" depending on who settled and when!! This month we MAY have 2 due (they definitely LOOK like they are carrying at least one...or two???). This is fun...
