OT- my barn roof is half gone!

It was fine last night when I separated the goats and cows from their babies.

This barn is 60x60 and one entire side of the roof is peeled up and a big door is blown off.

I am so lucky I didn't loose any animals. That door came down in the hog pens. One of my cows had absolutely no milk and the goats were hiding.

Insurance is called, we will see how that goes.

Regrouping now, I need plans for a new milking room. Anyone got any ideas. Needs to be big enough for a cow and a goat stantion.

I am so greatful none of the animals are hurt. Another big wind and the backside might go down.

Omigosh, I'm so glad you and your animals are okay. That poor cow, she must be uber-stressed.

I thought our trailer was heading off to OZ last night. Pretty scary storm.

Glad you are okay. Other things can be fixed or replaced. I hate it when they come through in the night. There were tornadoes south of us last night. My SO stayed up, but I slept through it mostly. It rained so hard I did not sleep well. It was brief, but intense.

I usually hear anything that is going on and that couldn't have been quiet. I was more than a little shocked.

It was a rough night weather-wise last night. I'm glad everyone is ok! I hope the worst of it is over.

I am so glad that everyone is alright. Must have been a pretty bad storm. Hopefully you can get the roof fixed soon before another big storm rolls through. Poor goats & cow though I bet it scared the dickens out of them.
We're suppose to have strong winds start up later this afternoon, bringing freezing rain & snow I think behind it.

Oh no... sorry about the barn roof.. hopefully the insurance company will take good care of you..
. the wind was wicked... we too had roof damage.. as soon as the storm line hit last night, I heard an awful thudding noise.. soon it was RAINING in my Bedroom... it peeled the entire roof off!!!!... Hubby is at least home, he..my son & son-in-law got up on the roof in the rain (once the worst was gone and the lightening had stopped) they got it tarped.. new roofing was purchased this morning... plans are to re-roof on saturday (at least no more rain is expected until then).. It's always something..we've had lots of after the storm, fixer-upper-days.. at least we haven't had any tornado damage in over 3 years!!!

Oh Susie, I am so sorry to hear about your house roof! I hate it when it rains in my bedroom... I have had that happen to. I am so glad you are okay.

I hope you have insurance too!

There is no way my husband or son's will get on top of this barn roof. They are afraid of heights. Not sure how stable it is now, probably just as well.

I am sorry that is awful, glad no animals were hurt.
My barn was built by me and the roof is in four parts, the North west part blew off one night but thankfully it blew off and out. The goats had a sun roof for part of the day. We slapped it back up there and made it more secure. I hate wind, so damaging.
I hope your insurance company is good and your deductible is not high.

We are expecting that storm to come though here in about 2 hours. The wind has steadily picked up. They do not expect tornados, but high straight line winds. That is what caused our power to go out for 10 days this summer. We can only hope it isnt as bad.
If you dont hear from me for a few days......well we will be batting down.

Oh goodness! Thankfully no one was hurt!

We got the winds and two loads of hail last night. Luckily the only damage was a peice of metal siding ripped from the shed that a previous big wind storm had destroyed, that this one plastered against my corral fencing.

I hate wind storms.

We are supposed to have high winds again tonight and it has been windy all day. Those pieces of tin flopping around up there sure are scarey. I am afraid one of the pieces are going to come off and hit an animal.

Of coarse the goats think that because it's raining outside they must go in the barn.....where there is no roof. Goofy creatures.

The adjuster will be here in the morning and I am praying that they will at least pay enough to get it fixed.

Well I think we are through the worst of it. Only lost power for a bit a few times, but it came right back on. Havent been able to check for downed trees or anything. We will do that first thing tomorrow. The river is up reallllll high.
