No. TB is tuberculosis. TB testing is mandatory in some states for showing, mandatory in other states for shipping, and mandatory everywhere to ship out of country. You seldom hear of it anymore because tuberculosis is rare...however, it is NOT eradicated. It is rare because testing is demanded, and positive animals are destroyed.
Johnne's testing is not yet mandatory.
In many states, Brucella testing is also mandatory. TB and Bruc. are the two big ones.
We test, because we are responsible people, for Johnne's and CL because both diseases are passable to humans, even though the government does not currently require such testing.
We test for CAE because it is a nasty disease that will destroy your herd.
