Question Can I give 'Oral Cal MPK' or Calcium Drench - subq???

It seems like the Calcium Drench really stings when given.

You mean it stings when given orally? I've never noticed that. No I don't think you can inject it. Just get the injectable stuff.

injecting oral CMPK can lead to infection & abscesses... it does *sting* going down, but my girls will suck it out of the syringe (as long as they know I have a sweetie chaser waiting for them.. another syringe filled with something sweet)

Lovin'FarmLife, do you know how to make Doe Gatorade?

I probably need to post it again anyway, as it is kidding season:

1 Pint Oral CMPK
1/8th cup of molasses
1 quart warm or hot water (Hot, since you are in MI)

Mix thoroughly and offer to doe. They just suck it down.

You could just put whatever amount that you are drenching instead of the pint it calls for. By diluting it and adding the molasses, it takes out the sting. I don't have a single goat that won't mob me for the stuff.

Thanks...great idea! We just went out and checked on her and she is laying with her boy, she had an old sweatshirt of mine on and she isn't shivering.
Will check on her again before bed, since it is only 20 degrees out.
I will try the goat gatorade too.

Your goat will probably suck down that gatorade like it was candy.

I get the frozen containers of apple juice concentrate. Thaw that and mix some with oral CMPK. The girls love it. Reminds me I need to get some apple juice, count down to Feb 12 LOL.
