Pics of new baby.

Brutus (black and white buckling) has a new friend. What should I name this little doe?

He is such a sweet baby. Will I be able to spoil her the same way? She isn't the cuddle bug he is, but not wild either. Whats the best way to make this one rotten too?

Bottles. Bottles make kids cuddle bunnies.

And look at her, with that expression! All regal and stuff even though she is just a bit of a thing. It is obvious that her name is Queenie!

What a little sweet Pea. Once you get her home & spend time with her she will tame right down if she's not wild. Some folks if they don't spend a lot of time with their animals some will be a little more stand offish especially with strangers.

Mine are scared to death of little kids but will drive any strange adult crazy nibbling on their shirt or trying to get in their lap(these are all big goats too BTW).

This goat thing is addictive.... If you remember my friend and I bought a set of twins Brutus and his sister Ashe. Yesterday we got to more this little cutie and a black doeling with a white patch on the top of her head and what I think is called frosting, white ears and her nose looks like it has been dipped in cream. I will get a pic of her on here later. Both are Nigerian Dwarfs supposedly born in early November, but I question those birthdays. The black doe is larger than the twins who have a October birthday. Right now we have them all together. The little beige/ brown is smallest, but has the biggest personality. when i introduced them, sat is stall with them and of course Brutus climbed up in my lap. Afterwards he got down to investigate the new girls and little bit stood up on her back legs and tried to butt him. He ran over to me and looked up and seemed to be thinking "What the heck is wrong with her?". I've made my poor boy into a whimp. He is 4 mths old now and shows no signs of sexual maturity. I have read they can be so at 8wks. Do the ND mature slower than reg size goats?

Maybe call her Diva? She is either Pygmy or part pygmy, not a pure Nigerian Dwarf, you can tell by the coloring and stripes on her face. If that is her dam to the right of the picture she looks Pygmy too. That maybe why she is smaller.
Also if the black one was a single kid she may be bigger due to that as well. I have pulled doelings and left buckling on mom and they are just pigs who consume a ton of milk

Don't let him fool you, he can breed at this age and if they go into heat he can get the deed done. Doelings tend to have their first heat at 4-5 months old. They are too small and young to be bred. So you are either going to have to wether him soon or separate them.

Time, treats and good shoulder scratching work well if they were not bottle babies or won't take a bottle.

Congrats on your new goats.
