Booty is really cold

How fast do goats adapt to changes in temp? I picked Booty up Tuesday at 2 and the transport lady had the van really warm. He came from southern Ohio and I didn't think the temps would be too bad. He's freezing. Ive got two coats on him. He's in one of our two priefert brand kennels, 12*12. On a cement slab with a slanted steel roof. Shade cloth wrapped all around to block wind as much as it can. He has a xlarge Dogloo, a spot in the corner that I shook up 4 slabs of hay in if he wanted to lay there. He likes the dogloo. Doesn't eat much. Not sickly or anything. Just cold and unsure. I bought a bag of beet pulp to try a warm meal. No go. I put in my homebred ND buck thats the same age and size a bit ago. They are messing around. Figure that should get him moving and maybe if Conner eats he will too. I did give Booty a dose of Replamin+ yesterday and will tonite too. I cannot put him indoors anywhere. Except for the doe and buck barns the only enclosed place he could go is the kidding barn and I'll have does in there in 10 days.

I'd watch & see if the other little buck in with him doesn't make the difference.
Teusday was just yesterday so maybe he just needs a little more time to adjust to the temp change. We are pretty cold here but not sure what southern Ohio is like at this same time but you are probably still colder.

If he's still shivering with the other little buck in with him I would put them in the kidding barn. 10 days is plenty to get him used to his buck buddy & the temp. difference then move him back to their kennel or the other place you had in mind for them.

Give them a bucket of real warm water to drink too. Mine love warm water especially when it's cold.

You could put Hot water Bottles under an old towel too if you think he needs the extra warmth.

Booty seems ok with Connor now. Connor is acting real bucky with him and now Booty was trying to drink his pee when I last checked (bucks are just so disgusting!) but at least that's normal behavior. They were both in the Dogloo a bit before that when I peeked in while feeding.

My main concern with the kidding area was if he came down with pasturella or some other bug and then I move does in there and end up losing does or a kid crop. Rather lose the buck. Also, last yr I borrowed my buck to a friend that just had 3 does and apparently he came back infested with lice, which I didn't know, I'd never had lice before. I didn't know I had a problem until my first kids arrived a couple weeks later and by the time they were 4 days old they were covered in lice and eggs. That was a long nasty battle, with. every. single. kid. until. spring. ugh!!! As a side note, I used UltraBoss pour on, even on those young kids, just 1/2cc and nobody had any ill effects. This yr, no visable lice (so far knock on wood) and using the UltraBoss every 6 weeks on all.
