TN Folks: Master Meat Goat Producer Class

I am thinking of attending: http://www.tnstate.edu/extension/the...r_program.aspx

GA will not offer anything similar this year. AL has a class, but it will not be held until later in the year.

If anyone has attended the TN class, I'd love to hear your comments on it. Thanks!

The people I got my goats from said it was a very good class. Even though they were more into dairy goats as opposed to meat goats, it was good all around goat info.
I do not remember her name, but they praised the lady giving the class. They were provided with a lot of literature to bring home and a big binder to keep it all in.

Spike, thanks for confirming info I had read elsewhere. Looks like I will try to attend the class in April, held in Rhea County (Evensville).

They also have a presentation on Parasite Control in February.

I attended the class several years ago and would highly recommend it. While it does focus more on the meat breeds, you learn tons about goats in general. Everything you ever wanted to know plus you'll get the latest research. The female professor is Dr. Peischel. She works with both UT and TSU. Awesome lady, very knowledgeable. The class would be well worth your time.
