WooHoo...pregnancy test results!
Vinnie, Mudge, and Snicket are all bred! I hope they settled when I think they did and not before (I put them in with the buck several times because they kept showing signs of being in heat again). If they settled when I think they did, Mudge is due March 15th, and Vinnie and Snicket on April 4th. Yippee! I am looking forward to drowning in milk again.

Thanks...I'm a bit nervous about Vinnie because she'll be a first-timer and will just be a year old. I had planned at first to wait until next fall to breed her, but, since she was 83 pounds already at 6 months old, I thought I might as well go ahead and breed her. I hope I made the right decision.

Congratulations on the pregnancy results. I bet Vinnie's going to kid like an old pro & everything will be fine.

What happened to Cookie? You still have her, right? Did I miss a chapter? Did she not take?

No, I had been thinking for a while last spring that I wanted to only have Lamanchas. Then, I had a friend who only had two goats and had one of them die in July. I immediately knew that Cookie and her doeling, Fuzz, should go live there. I offered them to my friend and she about jumped up and down. I visit them every month or so and trim their hooves and they seem very happy. They are just pets, but they will get to live their entire lives there unless something happens that my friends have to move to town or something horrible like that.

Thanks. It is so weird how different it feels when I know they are bred as opposed to just thinking they are. I just love to see them lying around ruminating and gestating!
