prayers/good juju/well wishes needed

Emily just called me.. our dear friend Joan Coolidge (Amberwood).. is having some pretty serious health issues. She is a sweet woman and this has us all very frightened. She could use all the prayers and well wishes you guys would be willing to send... (I know I felt surrounded by love when you were all sending them my way after my brain bleed).

(just got off the phone with Joan.. she is scared, but hanging in there)
Send her some love ladies!!!!

Meditating for Joan. May her problems be resolved quickly and her fears be washed away with warm wishes and love.

thank you all so much... Joan is having serious issues (just got off the phone with her.. making sure she was okay with me sharing a bit more about what is going on)... She has had several strokes since summer (leading to her having to mostly retire after many, many years of dairy goats).. I talked to her thursday.. she wasn't feeling well, but her symptoms were vague.. friday afternoon she had another stroke.. (thankfully, this time.. without much damage/weakness) However her MRI showed SOMETHING.. they thought it was an aneurysm !! the decision was made to send her to Springfield later today.. her DR. just left her room, he now thinks they are seeing a tear instead of an active aneurysm.. but she still needs more tests (available in Springfield)... she is scared.. (I know exactly how she feels!! I too had to go to Springfield for my arteriogram before my brain surgery)... she is older and her overall health isn't what it was.. I am worried about her.. she is VERY dear to all of us... she was touched when I told her you guy were praying for her... keep her in your thoughts.. the next few days may be rough.

That's terrible. Smoke up for Joan. She is a historic figure. She knew Frosty Marvin personally if I'm not mistaken!

Oh Yeah... She and Marvin were close .. she has woven him in and out of more pedigrees then anyone else.. (even Marvin's owner, who was Joan's close friend).. I feel honored to have Amberwood blood in my own herd. (When Joan retired this spring, I was gifted with two adult does and two bucklings).. I already own several other heavy Amberwood does. (Most of my herd carry Amberwood Jedi's Winter Frost... he is always my *go-to* buck)... I was so excited when Joan moved to the Ozarks.. just the chance to meet her in person.. never dreamed we would become friends.. she is an endless wealth of nubian history and info...

Barbara Thrasher right? Was that her name?

Wonder if Alice Hall is still alive? If so she'd be REAL old.

Best wishes for her full recovery!

While I am new and unfamiliar with her,I can't help but feel a kindred spirit between all of us who have let goats into our lives. Hope she can overcome this obstacle and return to share her wisdom and experiences with all who follow behind her.
