We have babies

One doeling and one buckling. Too tired to get pictures today. We had to hurry and get the little pen fixed with a shelter for Lucy and the babies. I'll try and get some tomorrow.

The little buckling is almost completely white, he has a little light tan on his ears and legs. The Doeling is white with black spots and darker tan. The buckling is really loud.

She had them really early this morning, I'm thinking before daylight, because when I got up this morning about 7:00 I didn't see any of the goats. I drank two cups of coffee. When I got up to get the third cup I looked out the window and saw Ricky and Lil Ricky hanging around the goat shed. I went out and then Lucy came around the side, when she did out came the two babies. They were already up running around.

We built them a shed in the small pen and put shavings in it. Put them in twice, but a little while ago DH looked out with a flash light and they weren't in there. Hopefully Lucy will get them in if it gets too cold. Not suppose to get as cold tonight as last night. If they survive this cold they will be though little buggers.

Congrats on the new babies & I'm looking forward to pictures.

I'd just make sure they have good full bellies from momma, put a Hot water bottle under a towel & snuggle them up on that in the shed with their momma. They should be fine.
If your worried about it getting too cold you can cut the sleeves off an old sweatshirt & make them a little coat.

Is the buckling nursing? Maybe he is loud because he's hungry?

Yes I've seen them both nursing. The moma silly thing wouldn't take them into the shed last night, they laid up against the fence where the daddy was on the other side all night.
Went out this morning and they were both nursing.

Well, maybe she was plenty warm herself, so didn't think she needed to (I know sheep producers shear before lambing so the dams will seek shelter)...but goats are usually smarter than sheep, so maybe she actually realized the body heat from the dad was good warmth for the other side.

I'm glad they are doing well! Some goats are just LOUD. LOL. I have a couple of mini doelings that are out of noisy parents and they just about never shut up if they see me!
