OT - Frustrated Today

Suffice it to say we go to court Tuesday and I can't wait to have my day in court. In the meantime, you can read about the reason I'm so frustrated here. It's amazing how one thing can turn a perfectly good day upside down. I'll be glad when this whole mess is over and we can move on.

Ignore anything the owner communicates to you if you have a court date set, it will get sorted out there. At least the dogs won't be doing any more damage thanks to you.

I sat here today and printed out all of the material for court on Tuesday, which included the photos from that day. I *hate* those photos, but I know I need them. The owner swears there's no way the dogs could have done what was done to my goats, and only showed up on my property because they "followed the scent of blood" (s/he swears it was a coyote). S/he also states that the dogs were regularly tied out on a trolley, but in the same letter states that the dogs regularly brought home dead animals because they were "hunting dogs." How does a dog on a trolley "bring home" dead animals? I know mine never does. Hmm...

If this had to happen, why couldn't the dogs have belonged to someone willing to take responsibility, instead of someone trying to blame everyone else?

I'm so so sorry for what happened. I have always admired your goats and thought that little buck you lost was the sweetest little guy.

How can she deny it was her dogs when you ran out there and chased the dogs off to begin with while they were attacking your goats? And then contradicting herself in her letter by saying her dogs could never have done that and then turning around and admitting that they regularly bring home dead animals.

I wish you the best. For some reason some people just let their dogs run. I have put neighbors in their place for loose dogs. A dairy farm near us ..I found their dogs pacing around my goat fence one day. I called around to neighbors to see who owned it and made the "of handed" comment that I would shoot the dog if he came into the goat yard and attemped to kill my goats. Well, the owner sure showed up fast. I said that I would never kill another animal unless it was killing mine. He did find his dog a few days later. But, he said his dog wouldn't hurt anything as he is use to his cows. Well..guess what..I wouldn't trust any animals.. Even my own pet dogs once they get going in a pack...I hope things turn out well...but you can never replace your loving goats and my heartr breaks for them at that time.. I would rather explain why I killed their dogs than to have more dead animals. God Bless...

Oh Trish, I'm so sorry you're still dealing with this. So heartbreaking and frustrating Please keep us updated on how things go. I'll be thinking of you.

On that note, I owe you a thanks for backing me up on Upright Alpaca Farm's FB page. I was the one who got reamed and told to stop "shooting my mouth off" when I posted that pet dogs can and do kill. It's amazing what people just don't know and don't care to know.

Come on Tuesday!! The judge will be on your side here, those dogs were in your pen & caught red handed otherwise your hubby would have never shot them. Don't worry the dog owners will be responsible for thei I just hope that will be the end of it for you & they leave you alone after that!

I could go on all day about how much dog owners that think the country is a big open playground for their pets make me mad. Sending all the good vibes I can, although I don't know how this couldn't end up in your favor.
