new camera at chore time

Jessie got a new camera for her birthday (she's a new year's eve baby)... so this morning was practice pictures around the farm... (granted it's muddy and a tad dreary, but I thought some of them turned out pretty well)

we are so far behind on updating the website.. I haven't put up any pictures of Walker/black buck or Edge/black & white guy (most of the girls are bred to one or the other).. today was probably NOT the best day to try to get pics to use LOL.. the chicken is Laura Ingalls (she was a gift hen when I moved here.. she is at the min. 12 years old!)she use to lay the biggest olive green eggs I've ever seen.. she is still going strong.. I think the doelings I kept from last spring are growing off well. (they will go in with the big girls when the weather warms up and the browse comes back)
I looked all over for a rabbit suit for Zade, (like Ralphie got for christmas in the movie).. best I could do was a bear suit LOL..so that's what he is now wearing on cold mornings.. Jess wears him while she does chores.. I love his new teeth!!

They look great! I haven't figured out all of the settings on my new camera...So if anything is moving it just smears! ARgh!

It only took me a couple years to figure out the old camera.. this new one has so many lens/settings/effects ect.. it will be a LONG time before I'm taking anything but smears & blurs LOL

Your pictures are great. I also got a new camera and its buttons has buttons. That Nubian in the first photo is breathtaking. Of course the little mouse is just precious.

Great pictures Susie! Your goats are beautiful & that little grandbaby is a DOLL!
We got a new camera a couple months ago & I'm still figuring out different settings, sometimes the pictures aren't what I think they should be but yours look really good! Jess is I'm sure much better at the camera than I am.

Your pictures are so beautiful. Zade is such a doll. My camera is set for outside goats. If I had to do inside human I wouldn't have a clue.

Walker is so handsome, Laura Ingalls is lovely (love the name), and the spotted does are gorgeous, but the little bear steals the show!

thank you ladies... I really am excited to see Walker's kids (this is my first year using him).. that bloodline has always given me some of my favorite goats... A line that mixes well with just about anything.. all have had nice, well attached udders and milked well.
Walker's great grand dam Jenna/lighter tan with solid ears..(who I lost last year to an embolism 9 days before kidding).. grand dam Ruthie/rich red, solid ears (fingers & toes crossed for another solid black doe.. so far she's had one just about every year..no matter who she is bred to).. dam Gloomy/solid black, not a white hair on her (she is one of my favorite does in the entire herd.. lovely to look at, a joy to milk.. Walker/blk & tan with a big white side splash.. his sire was an Amberwood/Kastdemur buck who was red with TONS of white splashing..

The brown doe in the third picture, the one on the right her colors clash with the rest, so you should send her to me lol.

The last two pictures just make me want to squeeze his little cheeks! He is such a cutie!

The veins in the ears are fascinating (non goat owner here) they remind me of leaves (I make concrete leaves).

Great pics!!

Great pics!!
I too love the veins (I also like concrete leaves LOL).. and have thought often that their ears (esp. Gloomy & Ruthie) look like the leaves of some exotic tropical plant!!!

LOL.. (I must admit.. I too spend time staring at her ) I fell in love with her the day she was born.. I was thrilled when she kidded and I got to actually see her udder and milk it. (she did not disappoint).. She is bred to Edge this year.. In a perfect world, she would give me triplets.. (2 does and a buck.. ALL black & white spotted OR all black -with solid ears- I am wanting to keep a doe and have a reserve for a buck out of her... and if you find yourself staring.. thought you might want one too LOL

I'd definitely love a doe from her. She's is so stunning. I've always loved the does that are dependable, and worried less about spots and color, but she changed my mind.
