Looking for info on CL

Does any one have any "proof" that CL can be transmitted to humans through milk?

I have never dealt with this nor am I dealing with this. I have a milk customer who adopted a few goats from the local shelter. I know these goats, they all have CL or at least all have abscesses.
They were removed from an elderly couple in town for neglect.
My customer thinks I am telling her this so she will keep buying my milk. I have more customers than I have milk.

I hoped to give her some real info on the subject.
Thanks All

Steve, you can print these out.

(this one briefly mentions transmission via raw milk)

WADDL, a veterinary diagnostic site, says it DOES transmit through milk. http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/depts_waddl/FAQ/cl.aspx

Your customer is lucky that you are concerned. Hopefully they will read the articles you share.

I have a son with a swollen lymph node which developed after we had a goat with CL. (he was never exposed to the pus... but did drink the milk) A family bought her (knowing she had CL but they resold her within 2 weeks) and now their 2 yr old has a swollen lymph node without a verified cause. They did not mention CL to the doctor though. My son has his appointment tomorrow. I suspect CL. I cannot confirm though it could be a fluke.. or a coincidence. However, I will never again own goats because of it

Please let us know how this turns out! Did you sell all of your goats? When did this happen? I'm sorry to be nosey but this sounds like a learning experience so I hope you share. I'm so sorry you are going through this. How old is your son?

OK so my friend? is open to the info. That is a good thing. Now she is wondering if there is a way to test the milk to see if it infected?
Any thoughts
