Bathtime?

When we got Maggie, she had diarrhea. We have now solid stools but she still has clumps in poop in her hair. We've trimmed it, but we would like to bathe her. We have used dawn on puppies, but we also have mane & tail shampoo. What would y'all recommend?

Two people, a rain coat, muck boots and prepare for a fight
Goats hate water and bathing, I only had one buck who did not fight like he was going to melt or otherwise perish in the wet burning death.

You can use either, but I would probably go with mane and tail. I would make sure she can get warm and dry quick though. I would only do her dirty end and not a full bath especially if it is cold/chilly there, no sure what your Winter temps are in TN.

I wouldn't do anything but brush her in the winter.

I have put several goats in the milk stand and bathed them, after the first shock of "How dare you" they seem to so ok.
I use the stuff for horses, not mane and tail, but something for white horses cant think of the name, it is in the barn. But Shaq comes out soft and fluffy and it really gets the tangles out of his hair.

Is she going to stay in the house for a bit? Like Alice said I personally wouldn't do baths in winter. If I HAVE to do it I use dry shampoo, and a good brush. Works with out getting the goat totally wet.

In the summer I bathe mine, normally a few days before a show I will. I throw them up on the milk stand a do it as fast as I can.

LOL, when I worked as a groom in a show horse barn we used Tresemme shampoo. It worked wonders on a horse's coat.

Good luck to you!
