This weekend, I think. We'd have gotten them tomorrow but John is working today and tomorrow.
You know, NOAA is saying an inch of snow but the radio is saying a bunch! I don't know who to expect. John is taking a change of clothes to work at the group home in case the night person can't get in tomorrow and he has to stay over.

Omigosh! So much for NOAA, Susie. This is from the Weather Underground site:
==========
A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon
through late Tuesday night.
* Timing and areas affected... portions of south central Missouri
along and southeast of a line from Branson to Salem. Snow is
expected to begin along the Missouri and Arkansas state line by
3 PM Christmas day... spreading to the northeast early Christmas
evening.
* Snow accumulation... a storm total snowfall accumulation of 3 to
7 inches is expected... with heavier amounts possible right along
the Arkansas border from Gainesville to Thayer and Alton.
* Winds and visibility... sustained north winds between 15 and 20 mph
with gusts to 30 mph will result in blowing and drifting snow
and visibility restrictions to one half mile or less at times.
* Impacts... those with travel plans across the watch area on
Christmas day or Christmas night can expect hazardous travel
conditions. Roadways will be snow covered and blowing snow will
make clearing roads difficult. Wind chill values will range from
near zero degrees to 10 above zero Christmas night.

that's what I read to.... it was this sentence that made me take notice .

since we live between Thayer & Alton!!! (I am almost a snow-phobic.. hate, hate, hate it... THOUGHT I'd like it - grew up in oklahoma.. so we rarely got REAL snow.. moved to the ridgetops of western PA.. the last winter we lived there (or I should say I lived there.. hubby became a trucker and was gone for the entire winter LOL)... they had record breaking snow... roofs & buildings collapsing ... snow was so deep the dogs could walk out over the top of my stockade fence.. (we got 38 inches of snow in less then 24 hours on top of the several feet already on the ground)... I couldn't see out my down stairs windows!!! took me two days to dig to the mailbox.. that's when I got online and began farm shopping.. found this place on line, called the hubby (I was huddled upstairs trying to stay warm, hubby was in FL.. enjoying the sunshine LOL)>>> told him to call and make an offer (sight unseen)... didn't care how, but I was moving to the Ozarks to raise nubians... (I was already goat shopping online LOL)... long story short.. by the end of the day, they had accepted our offer & I was packing boxes.. never looked back.. (but did bring a bad case of snow hating with me)...

Well, I loved snow in Minnesota, maybe because we lived there for almost 22 years and I was used to it but also because since it's really cold when most of it falls, it's light, fluffy snow.
In Indiana (where I grew up) and here it's nasty, heavy, wet, gloppy, no fun to be out in snow and I hate it too. I know we need moisture but please, rain--not snow.
And, it had better be gone by the weekend so we can go to Genas and pick up the boys!

Those 2 boys are beautiful! They are going to be so spoiled & looking to pictures of them as they grow. Have a safe trip when you do get to pick them up.

They are spoiled NOW! I wake up in the morning to my two little one DD3 and DS2 riding a plastic trike and the boy driving a battery-powered Mater (the tow truck) around my kitchen table and the little goat hooves tap-tapping on my kitchen tile! Just imagine the noise! I have laminate flooring in my room and they LOVE to hear the click-click of their hooves on that flooring...LOL. Oh yes, I have done well at spoiling them for you already. They have never been outside.
When they were born I was so concerned that they would chill we kept the fire pretty warm. They ate and slept for the first week but boy they are making up for lost time now. They were only due to be born 2 days ago. They have been amazing.
