So, when are everyone's goats due?

Since I don't have a kidding count down of my own, I'm going to bug all of you.

Which does of your's are due when?

Honeysuckle is due March 1
Dryna was NOT supposed to get bred, and was locked up, in raging heat, from Nov 17 through the 22 (extra days on each side just in case).
She and the buck were happily on the 28th - I'm still waiting to see if she comes back into heat or if I need to mark my calendar for 150 days from then!

Haven't figured out her due date yet but I have the breeding on the calendar so sometime the end of April 1st of May.

My first one is due January 25th. I can't wait for fresh milk, and yogurt again. I should have saved some up, but the freezers were full. Last one is in March sometime, can't remember off the top of my head. At least I have enough feta saved up until fresh milk comes.

I have:

Skittles due January 8 if she took on the first breeding, could be later because I left the buck in with her for almost 2 months (couldn't get her bred last year and didn't want to take any chances this year)

Beverly due March 13

Cookie due March 30

9 does due 3/5, which is my spring break from classes.

3 more that should be due mid May after classes get over for the year - haven't even bred them yet. CIDRs should come out this weekend, then their dates should occur on Sunday/Monday if all goes well!

Thank you CIDRs/PG600 for allowing me to sync all my does to kid at once... Though I didn't think about it beforehand really until recently when updating my website. I'm not sure I'll survive 9 goats kidding out en masse... LOL. We shall see!

Next year I want to breed some for my Xmas break - so I'd have some due about now. My Xmas break starts next week.

Dona-Do you have does that re-cycle after being CIDR'd, or have you had great success with them?

I wish I knew!

Isabelle, our LaMancha, is due on March 1st. She was bred to our Nigerian Dwarf. I'm so excited about our first minimanchas!

Zora (ND) is due on March 6th.

All the others are anyone's guess. We had planned to breed two other girls for later than the first two, but I'm pretty sure that at least Emily had other plans. She's already huge, and I have no idea when she might be due. I won't be bothered if it's soon. We're missing the milk, but I sure do wish I knew what to expect and when.

I'm also wondering if, since Emily found the opportunity, maybe some of the other girls might have, too. We have the boys and girls separated into separate pens, but there have been one or two minglings. I guess only time will tell.

This is my first year using them, so I don't have TONS of experience...

I'm using CIDRs in ALL goats this year. Last year's kidding season was spread all over because it was the first year my dad was in charge of breeding season... he didn't understand the importance of checking the does EVERY DAY by bringing the buck over on a leash. He can't spot heats a mile away like I can.

Anywho, I put CIDRS in 10 does, pulled them 2 weeks later and gave PG600 2ml ea. Bred them either AI or live cover, all but ONE AI recipient (I had 4) came back preggo! So, I would blame AI failure and not CIDR failure in that case.

I have CIDRs in 2 doelings and the doe whose AI didn't take the first time around. I'm expecting them to work fine. I do plan on using PG600 with them too, stuff I froze from the first time.

I've HEARD you ought to use PG600 especially if you're trying to get them to cycle out of season. You have lower chance of sucess if you don't use it and are trying out of season. I probably could've gotten away with NOT using it, because I was breeding in-season - just wanted them due when it is convenient for me.

Hope that helps!

I have 11 does, first due Feb 28, last hopefully by end of march. Got my buck here later in the season than I wanted since the promised buck I had planned to use was killed by a ram at his home farm before they could bring him. Took a while to find a replacement and even longer to get someone to bring him to me since I no longer drive. He's a fine feller though.

One doe is all - and if everything worked, she is due on May 1.

I like having babies later in the spring.
