Thumbs up So Excited and I Just Can't Hide It!

I have some VERY exciting news...

and since my cubical-mates in the office tend to roll their eyes and leave when I talk anything "GOAT".... I needed to tell someone!

My yearling Lamacha went into heat last night!!!!! This girl was really scaring me, I was beginning to think she might be a hemi. Everyone else on the farm was cycling but her. She's usually so quiet but last night was SCREAMING HER HEAD OFF. So I put her in with my Lamancha buck and WHAM-BAM she stood right there.

Okay, now back to cube life.... my co-workers think I'm SOOOOOO WEIRD!

PS: I'm getting a 5 month-old Lamancha doeling this weekend... WOOHOO! I will post pix as soon as I can. I know you guys....

Congrats!

My coworkers think I'm a creep. I'm always butchering critters and breeding them. Not only do they occasionally refer to me as "psycho killer", but they joke that I run a "sex farm"...making it sound really bad. They just don't understand. If only they knew about all the "hoo-hah" checks and feeling for udders and such.

Great, now I'm making myself sound like a creep.

Congrats! Two very exciting pieces of news

Shayanna, don't feel bad, my coworkers have informed me that I am not allowed to bring anything in for any office party that has meat in it. They do not trust me not to feed them goat! As if I would waste my yummy goat meat on them anyway, lol.

~laughs~ Congrats! And we understand the entire "OTHER people just DON'T understand!"

I was at my Mom's and a friend of hers was there, and I was excitedly talking about semen. Her friend asked, "Semen? As in sperm? Ejaculation?"

I said, "Yes! Goat semen to be specific! I am so excited about an opportunity that has arisen to get some really good straws of it!"

She never said another word and left shortly afterwards.

Besides some occassions with friends/family and with the (still relatively new) boyfriend...

Probably the happiest I've been all year was when I got the preg results back on my girls. 3 of 4 that I AI'd to very nice bucks took. And, the CIDRs/PG600 that I used to cycle everybody worked for the AI recipients and the live cover does I bred - all 6 of the live cover bred does were confirmed preggo. I was soooo happy. Besides my dad and my boyfriend (yes, most of my friends think I'm weird, hehe), the only people I knew would *understand* was this forum. Well, and some friends on FB who raise livestock who liked my (rather insane) facebook post about getting the results back.

So happy for you! Thinking of upcoming kids is almost as fun as actually getting the kids. I am already anxiously anticipating pictures of everybody's kids this spring! (oh, and now we NEED pictures of your new 5 mon baby coming! )

Haha! Sorry, this was exactly the response I got this year, too, it makes me laugh to read your post. I dunno how many times similar situations popped up.

BTW - How did your ultrasounds turn out? Did I miss the post about it? I NEED TO KNOW!

Will let you know when I get them. LOL The good doctor can be hard to pin down!

I think I will just pull blood and get the darn blood test, and allow number and sex to be a "surprise".
