Poor Savannah!

Savannah is 2 years old...since cold weather has been setting in, her front knees have been cracking when she walks. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. She came from a CAE tested herd. Is this something normal? Someone I spoke to says it is cracking joints just doesn't seem normal to me, and the fact that she is so young.

Another question, her hair is so course and dry...and her skin is REALLLY flakey! Is this a sign of copper deficiency? They get Noble goat grain, calf manna supplement and BOSS, also loose minerals that most of the time they don't touch...and of course hay

The hair being coarse and dry is a sign of copper deficiency. Does she have a "fishtail" as well? (The hair at the tip of the tail falls out, making the tip bald, so the hair on the sides of the tail is grown out, and it is the shape of a fish's tail when looked at from the side.)

Flaky skin is often caused by a zinc deficiency.
