Thanks or thinking about him. He's doing fine completely back to normal. I pushed a lot of fluids and removed all his grain (my girls come to the milk stand now to get their grain) switched to to hay and alfalfa pellets and gave him B complex. I did find out from my vet that Metacam works way better for pain and works longer then Banamine.

The vet said for the 200# he gets 100 mg. So 100# gets 50mg. He said what's really nice is that it lasts longer and works better then the banamine and it's cheaper. He also said that with goats who have sub normal temps you don't want to give banamine because it will lower their body temp even more but the Metacam won't. It also comes in liquid and pills so easier to dose.

I'm thinking that metacam is the stuff I got for the little dog a few years back. Poor guy was crying out in pain and I couldn't determine why. Took him to a know it all vet and she insisted he had a herniated disc in his neck and would need expensive films and surgery because he tensed up and wouldn't move his neck when she handled him. I told her that the dog just didn't like her and insisted she give him pain meds. That stuff was a wonder drug!! Just 2 days of it and he was fine.

So glad he's better. Nothing worse than when 1 of our animals are sick.
