Preg results are in

Send in 10 samples. 6 live cover boer does - all preggo. Yay Waylon! He was a busy boy that weekend, I was worried he wasn't man enough. Shouldn't have doubted him.

2 boers AI'd to 2Dox Amigo *Ennobled* - both preggo! Expecting some 88% and some 94% kids sired by him this spring break!

2 Alpines AI'd to CH Chery Glen Password Gentry *B - Kessa took, Bungie is Open. Bungie, that darn goat... Really would prefer a daughter out of HER, but I'll take what I can get. She was dry as a yearling and has freshened twice with no problems other than she insists on giving me twin BUCKLINGS. LOL. Actually, I won't mind it if she gives me a daughter out of my current buck.

First year using CIDRS/PG600, first year doing AI - Sweet, sweet sucess. And here I thought my AI was a complete disaster. I did make *extra* sure by placing 2 straws per doe. Bit pricier but apparently worked! 3/4 sucess rate is more than I ever dreamed possible with them!

And to top it all off, I only have 2 more doelings (one boer, one alpine) and Bungie to breed in December for May kiddings after classes are done for the year. I just so happen to have 3 doses of PG600 left over.

Could it have gone any more perfect??

Super!!
Amigo passed on not long ago. He was awesome & can be seen on Leaning Tree Boer Goats website. He is the grandsire of one of my does.
All my foundation does were from Leaning Tree.

Sounds like Waylon's one happy "What happens in the barn stays in the barn" kind of goat!
Minelson likes this.

That is great. I have wondered about doing the AI.
Was it difficult?

Yup, most were above .7 actually. Lowest was something like .64. On the preggos, that is.

Yes, and expensive. Equipment, tank, semen, shipping. And usually not this sucessful.

Thank goodness for CIDRs and PG600. Would NOT Have worked at all had I not been able to use CIDRs and PG600.
