Baby watch!

With all the horrible news about the different illness's that goats on the forum have I thought it was important to shine a bright light of hope for goats.

My Tinkerbell, 2 freshener nigerian, appears to be in early labor! I might be a little early in the announcement but I suspect that later today she will deliver.

Goo is increasing and dripping, udder is tight, she is isolating herself and she is doing lots of talking. The buck wouldn't leave her alone so he must be picking up on the hormone changes. He is now separated from her btw.

She is as round as a small barrel. She delivered trips last year so we will see how many she has this year.

Oh and she decided she loves me again about 2 days ago! Tinker the stinker normally doesn't want me to touch her unless she is on the milk stantion. Today, she will lay on my feet!

Alrighty! I am ready for baby pics!

Is there anything more soothing than listening to a doe talk to her babes before they come? I love it..it's simply music to my ears.

AND........

it appears that my pregnant doeling is also in early labor. She is 8 months old today. Say a prayer or two for her and me.

Well, little hussy delivered one buckling! I was shocked that there was only one 8 lb kid. She is very attentive and had no complications. She delivered at about 2:30. The little guy looks just like the others.

Glad that is over with! I was hoping she was carrying more than one kid so that when she kidded she would drop enough weight to make her legs more comfortable. She is in very good body condition...

I guess I will just have to wait and see how her legs turn out.

I promise that I will take pictures in the morning The little ones and this old one are all tuckered out.

I did put them to bed with their sleeve sweaters on cause it's going to get very chilly tonight.

So they are all running around in purple sweaters and it's really cute.
