Tips on stealing cud and other questions

This morning was Gretta's last Tetracycline dose. So now she is on 20mg Pred and 2-1/4 cc Thiamine Am & PM.
I don't know how long to keep her on the Thiamine.
I don't know when to start backing off on the Pred.

She is doing pretty good but the way Frankie blew up from eating the Alfalfa, I would have thought she would have gained more weight by now.
Makes me wonder if some kind of enzyme supplement would help her absorb more nutrients.

I also need a plan to help her rumen now that the antibiotics are done. I am planning on stealing a cud from Pony. I already tried it and failed and got bit (ouch! ) Any tips on how to steal it would be helpful. Also...how do I give it to Gretta once I get it.
How much probiosMax should I give and how often.

Should I continue with the Dyne? (2 TBLS twice a day)

Sorry for all the questions...I just don't want her to slip backwards again

I've never had to steal a cud yet but read about it several times here. Everyone always says watch the goat until you see him burp the cud up, grab him quick & swipe the cud from his cheep. It always says to be real quick.
To give it to Gretta I would assume you then give it to her to swallow.

Have you tried her on the Yogurt from the store yet? I think that would be good for her & if you still want to give her some probios paste a day too won't hurt I don't think, I don't have a tube with me but I would think 5-10 cc would be Ok.

When I had to take my little buck to the vet & they gave him Nuflor I gave him Probios paste for a week after the antibiotics & he's doing fine so I would do at least a week for Gretta.
It may take a little time for her to gain some weight back since she's been so sick, unlike Frankie who everything he eats goes right to his hips & belly like my Moose must be.

Not sure if this would work for you, but my doe will always burp up a cud immediately after being placed in the milk stand. That way the goat is contained and you know when they're going to do it. Your goats may not do this though.
