Please Bear with me
I'm going to have a lot of piddly questions. I need reassurance on my treatment plan for Gretta. Every... EVERYresponse and suggestion is helpful and I truly do research on everything. But I am not as good at it as some of you and sometimes I need a minor "thing" spelled out for me.
I am considering everything and trying to make the best choices.
Hubby said to me tonight..."it's a good thing you have that forum for help with this, seems like they understand"
Thank you all so much

I am sorry Min! I have been trying to get back to you! Yes, I think Colloidal Silver would work for Gretta. In years past I have tried to put together a "what if" plan for CAE. The scientist in me truly wanted to see if CS would reverse a CAE pos doe.
I would definitely try it in your case!

You and Gretta are helping the forum too, you know. We are all learning from you and her, and if any of us have the same problem one day, knowing what you did is going to be a great help. Hang in there

I just wish I had more help to offer. I just have never dealt with her problems. Reading your posts has been an education for me.
But I'm happy to be a Gretta cheer section. Go Gretta go.

Try it! I dont feel like getting into it, but Ive seen colloidal silver do amazing things! Id make it myself instead of buying it personally. Very easy to do. As long as you use .999 silver or better and distilled water.

I would not throw everything you read or we say at her though. I would go through everything carefully and make a treatment plan then scrap it if it does not work in X number of days and then move on to the next one giving her a down time between change of treatments with supportive feed and care the entire time.
Are you having her and the rest of the herd tested?
I think of Gretta as the tie hating, drama queen on a leash, JW attacker--- the gargole goat of the forum her antics always make me laugh.

Gretta is being re-tested. Blood and fecal culture. just waiting for the results. The samples were sent to a different lab this past Tues.
I'm not testing the others because a negative would be unreliable and a positive wouldn't cause me to do anything different.
She is eating alfalfa and oats and a few prunes daily. She grazes a little bit. This is all she will eat
Her treatment is
500mg Tetracycline
20mg Prednisone
2-1/4 cc Thiamine RX 200mg/ml
5cc's Dyne
I mix it all up in a 20cc syringe and give it to her orally in the AM & PM
she gets 10 grams of Probios MAX for lunch
When she is done with the Tetracycline I will begin more aggressive probiotics. She has Right Now Onyx and baking soda available. I never see her eating the minerals. I am at a loss about what to do about minerals right now.

Gretta had a good day today and continues to eat alfalfa. I'm going to have to get some more this weekend.

Maybe this is related to Josie's post..and maybe not. When we have a tree or big tree limb fall..we leave it. There's a couple in the lot up here by the house and several in the back pasture. Why do we leave them for a good long time? The goats and Dexters seem to gravitate to them at different times. Not as a herd..but as individuals. I don't know what is in them..I only know that the animals use them..not in terms of eating..but more like they are dosing themselves. They actually are after the bark.
