I'm finally a goat mom!

Yesterday we brought home three mini-Mancha doelings! Yay!! They are cute and sweet and love little bits of graham crackers for getting-to-know-you treats. If the picture posts, the girl on the right is Ruby, the one standing on the left is Opal (Ruby and Opal are twins, and have elf ears) and the little one laying down in Pearl, who has gopher ears.

They're pretty happy in our little shed for now, eating hay and kelp meal. Tomorrow we'll let them out to explore their pasture. I'm so happy to finally have these girls! Now just waiting for my ND does!

My big question is how in the world to identify them as ours? Can't put a tag in their ears or tattoo their ears.. Not willing to do the microchip thing. Is branding the only possibility? Would love to hear any ideas.

You tattoo their TAILS! Don't brand them. You will have to have a tattoo kit that doesn't have the "ear release" on it because it won't fit on the tails.

Congratulations! I LOVE my NDs and my Mini-Machas! You will too.

Congratulations, they are adorable & look so much alike they could be triplets.
I have 1 question though, is their hay feeder hung a little too high for them or is it just how the picture looks to me?

It is high, going to fix that once we can let them out to explore. They manage to clean it out 3 times a day or so. I didn't want to freak them out with the noisy power tools, they were pretty scared but are warming up nicely.
