There's a first time for everything...

I just got done giving Ferdinand a bath!

Our first show is this Saturday and today is the warmest predicted day for the week, so I'm hoping he doesn't get completely filthy between now and then. I have waterless shampoo (spray on, wipe off) to use on show day.

He was actually really good! He's always been an angel about being up in the stand. He acts better for hoof trimming than our adult does! I brought a bucket and a pitcher of warm water so I didn't have to use the cold hose water. I started to try to blow dry him but I gave up pretty fast. It was really windy and the hot air wasn't really making it to his hair.

I used Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner. It worked really well and smells so GOOD! *I* want to use it now! lol

Anyone else ever given a goat a full-out bath before?

I was just talking to my sister about giving Mr Stinky a bath, but it would be in vain.....so I will leave him alone. He is so pretty when he is clean. Oh well, that will have to wait.

I bathe all the goats that I clip in the early summer... keeps the clipper blades from getting too dull when you clip 'em.

Yep, I bathe and clip all mine usually after Easter. I don't show or anything, I just like how they look shaved down

We clip because of showing and I normally give baths when it starts to warm up.

Shaq gets a bath each year before I take him to the Pumpkin Town Festival.

I use Mane & Tail in my hair. I'm pleased to report the conditioner took an entire pack of gum out of my then 3 year old's curls.
