The continuing saga of Katy, Warrior Princess
Remember Katy the Alpine Warrior Princess? She wouldn't let either buck breed her this past week, depite being in roaring, tail-wagging heat. I've never had a doe do this before. She runs like an absolute banshee and if we try to restrain her, she struggles so hard that she's every which way but up.
Poor Kerla never made contact despite our help, so we figured we'd try Martok. Martok, being more experienced, managed to get her just once. After a half hour or so of battle (both of us trying to restrain Katy, with Martok continually trying to race in for a quick piece) after the first contact, we gave up.
So now I'm waiting to see if she comes back in heat. I can't imagine she settled by a single, quick shot but I'm hoping. We might try once more but if it goes like this again, forget it. I would like to breed her because she's still precociously milking on one side but geez!
Meanwhile, of course, Bon Bon and all three of her daughters were standing pen-size making extreme googoo eyes and waggy tail at Kerla and Big Mama was over wooing Martok. Any of them would have been happy to be bred but Katy? No way. :o(
