Fecal numbers - help?
Okay I had my whole herd fecal tested as I said in a previous post. I just got the results back and I am not sure how to read the test. I am surprised at finding the adults with cocci levels that they are and I didn't test each goat so I can't say who has what and how high. Everyone looks pretty dang healthy and sassy, the only ones who haven't looked as thrifty is the bucks.
For my buck pen ranging in age from 1 1/2yrs to 8yrs
Cocci level - 265 per gram
Strongyle count - 565 per gram
Doe pen ranging in age from 1 1/2yrs to 10yrs
Cocci level - 560 per gram
Strongyle - 755 per gram
Strongyloides - 285 per gram.
Kids are 5 months to 6 months
Cocci - 300 per gram
Strongyloides - 240 per gram.
Help me read these numbers. I know I will be cocci treating the kids again but what about the adults? Should I cocci treat the whole herd? I was shocked when I saw my cocci levels in my doe pen was higher than the kid pen and that even in the buck pen I had cocci of those levels.
Thanks in advance.
