they let me come home last night..warning pics of my ouchie

even tho I can't lay down on the bed to sleep (too painful) I was able to get a good night's sleep in the recliner..I look like the looser in a really bad bar fight... thankfully the grand baby is young enough that he doesn't find me scary looking (he keeps laughing at my new *hat* LOL).. Hubby took a couple pics when they were changing my bandage.. I know people usually say "it doesn't feel as bad as it looks".. but if I'm honest.. yeah.. it feels just about exactly how it looks...LOL.. tons of swelling (they screw your head into a holder while they do surgery, so you get *extra* ouchies for the same price LOL....at least today, I can see out of my right eye again and sort of turn my head to the right... I swear the shower I took before going to my chair for the evening, was one of the nicest of my life!!!! ...we live outside of a small town, I had joked about being the gal who had the fit at the post office, then about my soon-to-be crazy hair do... well, I guess word travels fast... flowers showed up here at the house yesterday from some neighbors up the road... (who are on my fb, so I know they know what's going on).. but .. I also got a big gift basket filled with candles ect.. from some folks who go to the bar up the road from us... Hubby use to go there sometimes to sing karaoke... we haven't been there in almost a year... it was super sweet of them to bring something...

trying to keep from having a caffine headache, and showing off my niffy braid that I have left LOL

guess if my neurosurgeon ever gets bored with being a doctor, he could take up sewing... I think he did a fine job.. I get my stitches out a week from today

So good that you are home! Your surgeon did an absolutely eat and tidy running stitch there. You can now say that your head is quilted!

Fine "hat" you got going there! I've heard that the turban look is in this year. ~grinz and winks~

It's only because you are a goatie person that I felt I had to look. I'm a real wimp and over-identify.
So owie owie- owie owie indeed. Luckily it will all be covered when your hair grows out.
I'm so glad to hear that it was a success and that you are home. Home is worth a bazillion asprins.
Hopefully you'll soon be over the surgery swelling.

Oh I'm so glad you posted a picture. I was going to ask you to but thought that might be too tacky... You must have read my mind
It looks like a real fine job! But it really looks like it hurts too! I hope you have some good pain meds. Take stool softener with it if you do...they can be constipating. Every day it will feel better and look better I'm sure. I am so happy you got to come home!

You should get a tattoo while your head is shaved! Then you could feel really rebellious even if no one could see it.

Your incision looks good. The doctor has obviously done this a time or two, so that's reassuring.

Keep smiling! It looks good on you.

Your head and eye looks better than mine did (I had staples) but I do not remember any of the pain . . . but my memory was about 10 minutes . . . ever see "50 First Dates"? that was me.

I LOVE the tattoo idea. If I ever get my screws and plates out I will definitely get a tattoo!!!

Wow you look good for what you just went threw. Donna 1982 has the very same scar from when she had her brain tumor. She was 4 years old. We were scared to death, So I know how your family feels. Tell them keep up the good work and we are so proud of you and being so very brave.

Now that is some owie. =:op

So glad you're home. Holding that grandbaby and gazing at goats is the best get-well medicine there is.

I agree on the tatoo after a couple of weeks of healing. I also think the doc could have embroidered a flower or two in there. He is pretty good though. Lol. I really hope you get to feeling better super fast!

If I had an incision like that...and just went through that kind of surgery the LAST thing I would want is a tatoo! Owie!

I was leaving one way or the other LOL.. doctor came in not too long after you left.. I was by that point dressed, wearing my coat.. sitting in a chair.. Doctor saw how well I got up and walked (how steady I am on my feet)..I had to promise him not to be out doing *goatie* things for a while.. I go in next thursday to get the stitches out... it was really good seeing you yesterday.. I get the bandages off and can wash my hair this weekend.. I'm going to ed drive me up to the post office on monday or tuesday, so I can take them candy & flowers.. it will be my first outing with my new *warrior princess* hair do LOL..
