For Michigan goat folks

I have a friend that has Lamancha does' & is looking for a buck. Any of you raise lamancha's here in michigan or know a breeder that does?

I checked with a few of the registries for a members directory & so far no luck.

She has Boer's & french alpines I believe but I could ask her if she knows anyone that raises LaMancha's.
You don't see or hear about many Lamancha's in this state, harder to find than Nubians, alpines or saanen's.

Nope, I don't know any 'Munchie breeders... I've seen them here or there but I especially don't remember any disease-free or tested herds. About the only thing I could offer is my French Alpine or my Boer buck.

I've mentioned to them to even get a nigerian dwarf buck from a disease tested herd & then have Mini mancha's but they really want to stick with the standard size.
This will be the 2nd year he hasn't bred his does'. I'd be thinking of something for sure if I were them.

Better to get them bred to SOMETHING than not breed them at all. Not like breeding them to something else means that the kids will be unmarketable or the does will be ruined for life. Esp if he breeds to a nigie, boer, or even another breed of registered dairy buck. All of those offspring could be registered with some association or another.

If he wants 'munchies and wants to breed 'munchie, but can't find a local buck they're just going to have to invest in finding/getting/housing/maintaining a buck.

He's trying to stay in Michigan but he might not be able to do that. I also would rather breed them than let them go another year not bred.

A beautiful herd of Lamanchas.

Not sure why it translated the link to "home page", but the link will bring you to Autumn Acres. Beautiful herd of Lamanchas, as well as Alpines. She is in Wayland, MI.

Buck in MI

Best of luck to your friend in his search for a buck.

There is a yearling Autumn Acres LaMancha buck available at Irish Whisper Farm right now.

I copied and pasted the info below.

FOR SALE - I've got a lamancha yearling buck that I've decided to sell - he's a big, beautiful boy - nearly as big as my 5 yr. old LM buck! Very correct, great temperament, sundgau in color, and really packs some great genetics behind him. I'd like $400 for him.

Autumn-Acres Tanzey's Tucker

Dam: Autumn-Acres Tempra's Tanzania "Tanzey" 03-05 EEEE-92
ds: Kastdemur's Up & Atom
dd: CH Autumn-Acres Tory's Tempra

Sire: Autumn-Acres Maddock
ss: Kastdemur's Cyclone
sd: CH Autumn-Acres Miss Marmalade (maternal sister to 2010 Nat'l. Ch. LaMancha)

I just talked to my friend. He ran an ad on craigslist last wednesday looking for a Lamancha buck & I guess a lady called him with 1 for sale that she couldn't keep in her pen's. I guess he goes right through hot wire without a problem. registered & from disease tested herd he said so he's happy right now anyways.
He said he's 2 years old & full horns so that he's not excited about but is looking in to options to take care of that I guess.

I want to thank everyone for all their help & he knows I have all your information now if he decides he needs it.
At least his girls won't be dry another year.

Hello,

Nope, my farm is Zanzabeez Nigerians but I don't think Susan at Irish Whisper would mind if anyone called her because she does have her info out there online

Just read that your friend has found a buck. Congrats and sending lots of doeling thoughts his way.

Thanks,
Tracy
