What to do till the meds get here?

So our young buck - around four or five months old - has diarrhea and is thin and unhappy.

Have ordered cocci meds for him but they wont get here for two days.

I gave him some flowers of sulphur mixed in honey which he loved. About half a teaspoon and will give him the same in the morning.

He also got a tiny bit of a zinc tablet.

And am contemplating giving him some rice water.

What else can I do to make him comfortable? Mum is bringing a bottle of pepto. Can I give it to a goat?

Any help at this point would be super!

Pepto absolutely can be given to goats! Use the human dose according to his weight.

Have you had a fecal done to make sure that it is in fact coccidia and not something else?

Make sure he stays hydrated.

Some people who use herbals swear by cinnamon mixed with water and drenched. I think my friend said she used 1/2 t on each of her nigerians.

I was trying to figure out how to afford a fecal this timeof the month and then I remembered......................

We paid for a fecal and never got it done on our dog when she got garbage gut last time.

So I have hunted out the little bottle and as soon as the vet opens I shall drop it in.

It has been quite a while but as its paid for it shouldnt mater what kind of animal its for. I hope!

Should not matter at all that it's a goat. Same equipment used.

Would electrolytes help to prevent dehydration?

Sure, electrolytes would probably be a good thing.
