I've been waiting for Cassie to go into heat...

Cassie, the tri-color Mini Mancha is going to get bred again this fall after taking a year off to recover from quintuplets.

Cassie HATES rain. If she is FORCED into the rain, she tippy toes and tucks her chin WAAAAY in and looks like she's just in agony.

I'm sitting here at the computer looking up mare's milk links, watching the rain pour down, and just being serene.

There goes Cassie....OUT of the nice dry goat shed all by herself, tippy toe-ing down the hill, chin tucked to the buck pen. OMG She picks TODAY to have hormones!?!

I hope she is in heat still tomorrow because I am NOT going out in the rain to sort out her designated buck from the stinky wet and totally gross buck pen inmates.

She went back to the shed, but is peering around the door frame at the bucks.

Thank God for hotspots and netbooks with BATTERIES. I am sitting in the dark, checking on you all because of modern technology. The lights went out a while ago, after the rain had stopped.

We have a propane cook stove (and wood heat in the winter) so, lights or no lights, I can still drink hot tea and read HT!

Oh, please don't let our electricity go out! I don't think I can deal with that today.

I'm up and at 'em this morning. Do feel quite a bit better.

Cassie *is* down by the buck pen flapping her tail. I'll get her paramour out after feeding and milking. He is black and white, so we should get another batch of pretty kids. I hope NOT five bucklings this time.

I, too, am glad you are feeling better this A.M. I hope Cassie is receptive also and that all goes well in that regard.

Yes, I'm better, and Cassie is bred. She was waiting by the buck fence this morning, and (for a change) sorting out the right buck was easy. He's already bred her at least once, and I moved them to a pen by themselves for the day. I really need pics of them together. Beautiful!!
