The Goat Channel

I've always referred to Homesteading Today as my 'homestead buddies' when I'm telling DH about something that I've read here.

But my reading time on the Goat thread has increased tremendously since we got our goats this spring... so he hears about many of the things that are discussed here

I started to tell him about what Replamin tastes like and said, "On the Goat Channel today..." then cracked up when I realized what I said!

So I just want to thank all of you - for your expertise, your help, your willingness to dive in, and of course, for the entertainment!

I know it is kind of sexist, but when I talk to DH about stuff on here, I always say "the Goat Ladies". As in, "The Goat Ladies have been saying..." or "One of the Goat Ladies is doing..."

DH has even picked it up. If something goatie confuzzles him, and I don't readily know the answer, he'll say, "Well, could you ask your Goat Ladies?"

I just call it "The Goat Board." I like both the other options much better!

Well we cant really just be "goat ladies" cause there are some guys that hang out here too. And well the goat board kinda scares me it sounds disciplinary (you know the ones with holes in them hurt worse)
But stay tuned we will soon pick the perfect name for WE the Crazy Goat peeps...

I always call you all The Goat people when talking to Dh. Sometimes I use your board names. I do like the Goat Channel much better though.

Oh, let me tell you what winter wolf said today... "Winter wolf? He native or something?" Ummm, it's she, and I have no idea. I think I was once told her real name, but I don't remember it. Anyway, she was telling my goats... "She was talking to your goats?" No, no, no, that's Dona, but she is "my goats" because we have had a lot of "Donna" over the years, anyway, she was telling my goats about Backfourty's.... "Is that a place or a person?"

Ummm, never mind. Go back to reading about the elections.

I just say on "The forum" and I see his eyes glaze over. But thats okay because everytime he starts talking about a Cummins Diesel, there is this odd buzzing noise that happens in my ears and I find myself dozing off.

Shayana, I get that same buzzing noise when my DH starts talking about the latest discovery in physics. (I believe that women are just as capable, on average, as men in mathematics, however, I am NOT one of those women... I learned just enough math in college to be able to read a study and understand the methods, and that is about it. Higher math makes me drowsy.)

But I think it is a fair trade, I guess. I start talking about trace mineral uptake values in small ruminants, and I might as well be singing him a lullaby. If, however, I should mention that I saw an antique tractor for sale on Craigslist, he wakes RIGHT up! LOL
